One-Eye Breathing (also Popeye Drill)

Purpose: to maintain body alignment and minimize head lift when breathing

Pointers: start slowly, focus on trying to lift chin over shoulder when breathing

  • Begin swimming as normal.
  • When rotating body and turning head to breath, only let one eye come out of the water.

When doing this drill you'll need to breath out of the side of your mouth like Popeye.
