Breathe-Blow-Blow-Breathe is bilateral freestyle breathing practice where you focus on the exhale or blow underwater. This helps to instill consistent breathing pattern with bilateral breathing. Inhale, blow, blow, inhale again on what will be the alternate side.
Stretch-Blow-Blow-Stretch
Stretch ads focus on elongated body position during breath. Similar to breath-blow-blow-breath, but with more emphasis on extending your lead arm as you inhale. For most people, they press their front arm down to help raise their head for a breath. If you place more emphasis on holding the stroke at this point by stretching forward, this will keep the balance and rhythm of the stroke together. Plus you have a slightly longer window to breathe in, making the whole stroke that much more relaxed.
