Pull Drill focusses primarily on getting as much propulsion as you can out of the stroke during freestyle swimming.

Through the use of a pull buoy and/or paddles, one can maintain better body positioning and alignment without kicking and isolating more intentionally the proper high anchored elbow catch using an early vertical forearm to more efficiently catch water and move you forward in the water more efficiently while pulling the water back down towards your feet from out in front of the body.

Maintain forearm and hand positing to bottom of pool with bent elbow.
Keep hand in line with shoulder throughout the catch and pull and rush through the stroke.
Can be done with pull buoy and/or hand paddles.
